A new rule is helping U.S. veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxins get better health benefits.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand says 26,000 New Yorkers have filed claims for that help through the PACT Act, but that thousands more are eligible.
Gillibrand says that those veterans no longer need to prove that their disease is service-related because the only people affected by burn pits and other toxins tend to be those who served in the military.
