The federal government has begun making new payments to the victims of Superstorm Sandy.
The new payments come after a review found that some policy holders were not sufficiently compensated by the National Flood Insurance Program.
FEMA announced in May that letters would be sent to thousands of storm victims after it was discovered that some of them had their damages underestimated. The deadline to apply for a review is Sept. 15.
Brooklyn was one of the hardest hit areas when the storm made landfall in Oct. 2012.
