The financially-strapped Victory Memorial Hospital in Bay Ridge may soon be getting a boost.
The Maimonides Medical Center in Borough Park has entered into an $8 million agreement with the hospital. The hospital will receive a $3 million state grant and a $5 million loan from the medical center. The money will be used to help cover the cost of a new emergency room, diabetes and bariatric programs and an operating room.
As part of the agreement, patients at Victory will be referred to Maimonides for highly specialized care, such as invasive heart surgery. Maimonides patients will be sent to Victory for skilled nursing and home health care programs.
