Investigators have released surveillance video of the suspect in an East New York shooting that took the life of a 24-year-old man.
According to police, Jonathan Thomas was shot in the head in broad daylight Thursday on Shepherd Avenue, just a few blocks away from his home.
His distraught and heartbroken mother shared pictures of her son with News 12. His girlfriend says the couple had planned to spend the rest of their lives together.
It's not yet clear what led to the shooting. Police say Thomas had six prior arrests and was the gunman's intended target.
The suspect was wearing a red and yellow T-shirt, green sweatshirt and black pants at the time. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
