Borough President Eric Adams hosted a vigil Tuesday afternoon for victims of the earthquake that killed hundreds in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Activists are asking Brooklyn residents to donate canned food and medical supplies to their local community centers for distribution to survivors.
Officials say over 300 people died in the quake, which also injured thousands.
Pakistani rescuers are still trying to reach remote areas in the mountains affected by the 7.5-magnitude quake.
The Pakistani army is using helicopters to deliver supplies to victims.
