A community in mourning gathered in West Farms on Tuesday to honor the life of a father who was fatally stabbed inside of his apartment building.
Family and friends of the late Tyquan Pleasant came to remember and commemorate his life.
According to the NYPD, the 27-year-old father was stabbed by his neighbor, who has been identified as Shaun Pyles, inside of their building on Elsmere Place last Friday after an argument over loud music being played at night.
Investigators say Pleasant was found with a stab wound to his back. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Pyles is charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
