A bizarre story is blowing up on social media that shows what many say is an inappropriate reaction by police officers to a passenger that reportedly demanded that they wear a mask.
A lot of people criticized the officers seen in the video, saying their behavior was unwarranted and unprofessional.
According to AM New York, the video was captured by a fellow passenger. The officers reportedly said the passenger was being disruptive.
Video shows maskless officers pushing the rider, who was still recording them on his phone, grabbing him by the shirt and ejecting him from the 8th Street Manhattan subway station and closing the door right in his face.
Later, as they walk away, you can hear that passenger asking them for their badge number as they ignore him.
Police tell News 12 they are currently investigating the incident. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is asking the public to track down these incidents by reporting them to their website and that they will investigate further and take appropriate action.
