A wake was held today for a 7-year-old Bushwick girl who choked on her food at school last month.
The wake for Noelia Echavarria was held at the Ortiz Funeral Home on Havemeyer Street.
Echavarria was eating a sandwich at P.S. 250 on Oct. 21 when the incident occurred. Her family has said that not enough was done to help the little girl.
The city's Department of Education says that based on the information it has, the school's faculty responded swiftly and properly to the emergency.
A funeral for Echavarria will be held Friday.
