Warm but less muggy; chance of rain for the weekend in Brooklyn

Today will be warm and slightly less humid under a mostly sunny sky. Highs will be in the mid-
We rinse and repeat into Saturday with lower humidity, more clouds and highs in the low-80s. Sunday will be hotter and humid with highs near 90 degrees. An approaching cold front will bring a chance of a stray T-storm Sunday afternoon and evening.
It cools down significantly to the upper-70s to low-80s by next week with low chances of wet weather.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: We're currently monitoring two areas of interest in the Atlantic basin. Tropical Storm Erin continues its western path north of the Leeward Islands and Puerto Rico. It is forecast to intensify to a Category 1 hurricane later today and become major Category 3 hurricane by Sunday. The northern Leeward Islands, southern and eastern parts of Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands could see heavy rainfall, high surf, rip currents and tropical force winds this weekend. There's still some uncertainty on the exact track, but most of the weather models are forecasting Erin steering away from the East Coast of the U.S. and wedged between the East Coast and Bermuda. This storm can bring dangerous rip currents to our ocean-facing beaches by next week. Stay tuned for changes. The other tropical disturbance has a medium chance of further development in the the gulf over the next seven days. It will bring heavy rain to parts of southern Texas and northern portions of Mexico this weekend.
