Hundreds of immigrant families who fled violence in Central America may be facing deportation in 2016.
According to a report by the Washington Post, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency will begin removing adults and children who have already been ordered to be deported by a judge.
The report says that the operation would begin as soon as next month.
Rep. Dan Donovan, who represents southern Brooklyn neighborhoods, said in a statement that "We are a country of laws, and a judge issued a lawful deportation order that the administration has a duty to enforce. Our immigration system is broken, but there is a process for entering this country legally."
