A group of water lovers is trying to build a floating pool on the East River. 

Members of +Pool and their supporters held a benefit at Brooklyn Bridge Park Wednesday to help make their vision a reality. 

Creators say the high-tech pool will filter water from the river without using chemicals or additives. Instead, the walls will be made using a layered filtration system. 

The team hopes to have the floating pool ready for swimmers by 2017.
