A water main break flooded a portion of Montauk Avenue Wednesday morning in East New York. The FDNY says it learned of the water main break just before 8:30 a.m. Montauk Avenue was flooded between Cozine and Wortman avenues. Crews from National Grid and the Department of Environmental Protection responded to assess the flooding. By noon, most of the water had drained. The street is home to a school bus company and a manufacturing company so no homes appeared to be impacted. The FDNY also says that no one was injured. Several cars along the street were impacted. The water did not appear to enter any of the vehicles or rise past their tires. It's unclear what caused the water main break.
