A water main break on Flatbush Avenue near the Barclays Center forced authorities to shut down traffic in both directions Friday night.
Witnesses say they saw the ground rise up and bubbles churning before water finally burst through the pavement shortly before 7:18 p.m.
Authorities say there were no injuries.
The section of Flatbush Avenue between Grand Army Plaza and the Barclays Center is one of the most densely populated and high traffic areas in the borough.
