NYPD: Man struck and killed by car on Bronx River Parkway

Police say a 65-year-old man ran across the roadway at 5:30 a.m. where he was struck by a vehicle.

A man is dead after getting struck by a car on the Bronx River Parkway near Allenton Avenue in the Bronx this morning.
Police say a 65-year-old man ran across the roadway at 5:30 a.m. where he was struck by a vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene, and no arrest has been made at this time.
Traffic on the parkway was backed up all the way into Yonkers. There was also backups on the New York State Thruway and the Saw Mill Parkway as drivers looked for alternative routes.
