Commuters on the G line will face disruptions this weekend as the MTA suspends train service between Bedford-Nostrand and Church avenues for further signal modernization work. The suspension begins Friday night and runs through early Monday morning as part of a long-term project to upgrade the century-old signal system. The MTA says the improvements will enhance service reliability in the future. Many riders recall last summer’s six-week G line shutdown and say they’re relieved this disruption will last only a few days. Service is scheduled to resume Monday at 5 a.m. Until then, the MTA will provide free shuttle buses between Bedford-Nostrand and Church avenues. Commuters are advised to plan ahead and check the MTA TrainTime app for updates.
