Services were held Thursday for a West Islip fire commissioner who died from cancer.
Commissioner Mitch Lohan, 57, served his community for nearly 40 years.
He was also the former captain of the Mohawk Engine Company.
The services were held at the West Islip Fire Department headquarters.
