Westport police investigate after colors removed from Pride display on Cohen Bridge

Westport police are investigating a possible act of vandalism after the colors were removed from Westport Pride's display on the Cohen Bridge.
Members of Westport's Representative Town Meeting were joined by Police Chief Foti Koskinas as they replaced rainbow balloons on the lightbulbs and added a Pride banner.
Police got a call a little before 9:30 a.m. that the balloons on one whole side of the bridge had been removed. Several lightbulbs were also broken.
Westport Pride put up the display Memorial Day weekend. Founder Brian McGunagle hopes to use this as a teaching moment.
Westport police say they do have a suspect in that investigation. The Westport Downtown Association says it's committed to replacing the balloons if they are removed again.
