News 12’s Doug Geed was joined by Rolling River camp director Marissa Allaben and Susie Lupert, executive director of the American Camp Association in New York and New Jersey,  to discuss vaccinations for camp staff and older campers, what happens if someone gets sick and what protocols will be in place for the summer. 

News 12’s Elisa DiStefano was at Rolling River Day Camp in East Rockaway to see how the children were doing on their first day back.

While coronavirus cases are down, the pandemic is still a concern. Lupert explains what camps are doing to continue keeping children safe:

On-campus trips are back for campers in third grade and up. Allaben says most of the venues are local and that campers must follow restrictions at the venue.
