lCG Auction House auctioned off a first release 2007 iPhone over the weekend.
The smart-phone is the first model of iPhones to ever be introduced to the world on Jan. 9, 2007.
It was still in its original box and factory sealed.
The device retailed for around $500 to $600 15 years ago.
The auction house expected it to go for at least $30,000. Sunday's winning bid was exactly $39,339.60.
To put this in perspective, this model of iPhone had one camera, a touch-screen, and could only carry four to eight gigabytes of digital storage.
Current iPhones still have the touch-screen, but can now have up to four cameras and hold up to 128 gigabytes of storage.
