Dam right now, I am standing outside of James Madison High School here in the 48th district and the city council seat is just one of 11 up for grabs in our borough. So clearly a lot at stake. Now all morning it seems as though there has been a steady stream of voters heading inside to make their voices heard here in district 48 incumbent in a ver is seeking re election against her opponent, Amber Adler. It's a race to watch as has been under fire after being arrested for bringing a gun to a pro another race to keep an eye on his neighboring newly redrawn district 47 which stretches from Bayridge to Coney Island. Current council members are Kan and Justin Brandon are going head to head in that race. Both of them previously representing parts of that new district. We had a chance to ask voters how they feel about this election as well as what is impacting who gets their votes. I took into consideration with the fact that I have never seen the two candidates running for the council district here. Uh uh Vernik off or uh ever. Uh I've never seen them uh at any civic meetings at community board meetings or precinct uh uh council meetings. I'm taking consideration the high crime and lack of safety in New York and someone that stands with law enforcement and that's tough on criminals. Keep in mind that polls close at 9 p.m. and when you head on inside to vote, you don't have to bring any documents.
