Students at one Brooklyn school are participating in the city's first ever dual English-Polish program.
Children at P.S. 34 in Greenpoint are the first kindergartners to participate in the new program.
School officials say the dual program is in one classroom, but the Department of Education will evaluate and consider expanding the program as the year goes on.
They say PTA parents were the driving force behind starting the program at a school where nearly half the kids have Polish backgrounds.
The students say they have already learned so much Polish, or Polski, this year, and they are hopeful they will continue to learn much more.
