The future home of the well-known Kentile Floors sign remains unclear.
The display was a Gowanus staple, standing on top of the old Kentile Floors warehouse on 9th Street since 1949, before it was taken down this past June.
The sign was then handed over to the Gowanus Alliance, which promised to find it a new home. The group plans to have an open process where fans of the sign can give input on where it should be put next.
One of the spots being taken into consideration is under the elevated F and G train tracks on 10th Street, between 2nd and 3rd avenues.
The sign is currently sitting in a warehouse awaiting the proper funding and city permits before it can get another home in public view.
