The man dubbed the "Williamsburg screamer" has been keeping residents living along North 5th Street pier, from getting a good nights sleep.

Residents say every night the man will scream at the top of his lungs, sometimes for hours.

“It can be anywhere from 8:30 or 9 p.m., all the way up until 1 a.m.," said Daniel, a Williamsburg resident.

He's become so well known in the area, that neighbors are constantly posting on the Williamsburg Reddit page about him.

“It’s definitely annoying, and it’s definitely intrusive, we’re on the sixth floor, and we hear it every night," said Zach, a Williamsburg resident.

Residents say they are concerned about the man's mental health as well.

“I don’t think people are angry at him, as much as concerned that he just needs support," said Daniel.

Councilman Lincoln Restler says his office has received dozens of complaints about the noise.

“It’s New York you think there’s always a bit of noise, but It’s really unnerving to have someone outside your window screaming for extended periods of time," said Councilman Restler.

Despite the councilman's attempts to get him mental health services, he says nothing has so far stuck.
