Some Williamsburg seniors are growing fresh produce that is available all year long.

Southside United, a home for seniors, has been participating in a hydroponic farm, growing pesticide-free food regardless of weather or season.

The project is done in part with Los Sures, a nonprofit group that runs the service.

The farm functions by growing the plants in water, vertically and underground, saving money by using the crops to build a community food pantry.

Los Sures Hydroponic Farm started up in 2012 after being built by the community.
