Wings Academy and Gompers boys squared off on the basketball court Thursday in the Bronx Borough Championship semifinals.

Top-seeded Wings came out fighting. The team had a 42-29 lead at halftime. Gompers would not go quietly though, eventually cutting that lead to only six points. However, Wings wouldn't let Gompers close the gap any further. Wings won 74-55.

Wings is expected to play JFK High School for a third straight year in the championship game. JFK also advanced in the semifinals.
