Woman killed, another injured in Crown Heights stabbing

A stabbing incident left a woman dead and another injured Saturday in Crown Heights, according to police.

Police responded to a call to 1700 Bedford Ave. minutes before 10:30 p.m.

When police arrived, they saw a 74-year-old woman with stab wounds to her head and arms. Another 72-year-old woman was also stabbed multiple times in the back and arm.

Both victims were taken to Kings County hospital. The 74-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The 72-year-old is in stable condition and is expected to be OK.

Investigators say a person of interest has been taken into custody at the scene. At this time, there are no charges.
