A woman was fatally shot inside a NYCHA complex in Brooklyn Thursday, according to police.
It happened at the Walt Whitman Houses on 56 North Oxford Walk in Fort Greene around 12 a.m.
Police say a resident inside the building called 911 and told police she heard gunshots.
Once on scene, police say they found a woman in her 20s shot multiple times and lying unconscious and unresponsive on the fifth floor of the building.
They say she was pronounced dead at the scene and suffered gunshots to her head, arm and leg.
Police have not released the identity of the woman and are still looking for a suspect.
