Woman sought for attacking man with hot cooking oil in Brownsville

The 38-year-old man suffered severe burns and damage to the skin on his chest, legs and arms.

Police are searching for a woman who attacked a man with hot cooking oil in Brownsville.

Officers were called to East 94th Street and Winthrop Avenue on Oct. 20 just before 5:30 a.m., according to the NYPD.

The 38-year-old man suffered severe burns and damage to the skin on his chest, legs and arms.

EMS took the man to Staten Island University where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

The NYPD did not provide details on the events leading up to the attack.

Police describe the woman wanted as approximately 30 years old with long black hair worn in braids. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, sneakers and pants with white lettering on the left side.

The NYPD asks that anyone with information call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
