A woman says she was assaulted and stabbed by a man on the subway Friday in Flatbush.
Cellphone video shows the victim, Ann Marie Washington, talking to police, after she says she was assaulted by a white man making anti-black statements. Community advocates say it happened while she was inside the Q station.
Washington says the man shouted racial curse words at her while punching her in the face, chest and stomach.
Washington says was checked over by an ambulance on scene who said she was OK. She says it wasn't until she got home that she realized she was stabbed by the attacker and went to the hospital.
She suffered from a collapsed lung that required surgery and a tube was put into her lungs.
The MTA tells News 12 that it is working with police on this matter.
Police confirm they responded to the call and that Washington suffered minor injuries.
The Hate Crimes Unit is investigating.
