This Women’s History Month, News 12 got an inside look at the women in sciences program at Maimonides Medical Center. Dr. Rebecca Rhee is the chief of colorectal surgery at Maimonides and helps operate the program. As a successful woman in the medical field, she feels that it’s her duty to help mentor those who will one day follow in her footsteps. Her mentee, Alexandria, tells News 12 the program changed her life. The high school senior is planning on going to college this fall and wants to study medicine or forensics. She says this program has helped her prepare for that and much more.
