Bronx artist Ruth Marshall is hosting a series of classes for children and seniors between this month and May.
Marshall says the classes will teach them how to crochet and make sustainable art.
The artist began her career as a sculptor at the Bronx Zoo in 2000. She says she quickly fell in love with teaching art.
Marshall’s love of crocheting was inspired by her mother and aunt. She is proud to continue sharing the art form with Bronx residents.
"I'm a teaching artist who is kind of obsessed with bringing creativity to the Bronx and bringing beautiful, handcrafted community art projects to the Bronx. That's my passion,” she said.
