An artist in Morris Park has been sharing her passion for art in the Bronx for over 20 years.
Ruth Marshall moved to the Bronx in 2000. She began her career as a sculptor at the Bronx Zoo, then fell in love with teaching art.
"I'm a teaching artist who is kind of obsessed with bringing creativity to the Bronx and bringing beautiful, handcrafted community art projects to the Bronx," said Ruth Marshall. "That's my passion!"
Between now and May, Marshall is hosting a series of classes to help young children and seniors learn how to crochet and make sustainable art. She said her favorite thing to crochet is circles.
"I just love circles, I'm a circle girl," said Marshall. "The Earth is circle, everything is circles. I love teaching people how to make circles."
