A Bankrate.com survey released Monday named New York City the worst place to retire.
Bankrate's analysis noted that rent in the city is the most expensive in the nation, and added that costs for things like movie tickets and haircuts are also much higher.
The survey's top retirement destination was Phoenix, Arizona.
