Some smartphone users are now opting to use apps to pay instead of cash or credit cards, though many Brooklyn residents say they prefer the old-fashioned way.
Many residents tell News 12 Brooklyn that they use their wallet to pay as they are concerned about data breaches and identity theft.
Stores like CVS and Rite-Aid recently stopped using the service Apple Pay from Apple, though a reason was not given why.
