New York is among the states with strict laws against texting and driving, but many still admit to the dangerous habit. 
In fact, a recent survey from AT&T found that three-quarters of those polled have risked sending messages behind the wheel. 
News 12 decided to see if passengers let the person driving them divide their attention between the road and their phones. Most viewers say they will not allow others to text and drive while they're in the car. 
AT&T surveyed more than 1,000 adults as part of its anti-texting and driving campaign.
