A debate is underway in Washington, D.C. after 6- and 10-year-old boys were picked up by police for walking without the company of an adult.
The childrens' parents had allegedly signed a form allowing them to walk alone, but they are now being questioned by Child Protective Services.
News 12 The Bronx took to the streets to find out what age parents think is appropriate for their children to walk home from school by themselves.
Residents think a range of ages would be appropriate, with some saying around 12 years old, and another saying they should wait until high school.
