The Prospect Avenue R train station in Park Slope went out of service Monday and will remain closed for the next six months, officials say.
The closure coincides with construction work there. Commuters say it's an inconvenience.
But once the work is complete, the station will have phone-charging outlets, more lighting and a countdown clock to inform straphangers how far away their trains are.
The MTA says 30 other stations around the city will undergo similar renovations.
