Cleanup crews were on the scene at the site of the massive fire that sent 15 people to the hospital, including children.
The blaze broke out on the third floor of the 3410 Kingsbridge Ave. apartment building Tuesday afternoon.
Windows have been boarded up with plywood and crews were sweeping shards of glass off the sidewalk. Inside crews were seen scrubbing the walls clean and fans have been put in for air circulation. Also on the building’s 1st floor is a daycare and there are letters on doors from the city to let tenants know about fire damage to their apartments. One man who was staying with his parents who live the building and is grateful they weren’t affected. "It's just a reminder that anything could happen," Patrick O'Donoghue said, "and it could all be gone just like that.” Another man who works across the street says he saw everything. “They rescued one old lady, Isaac said. "When they put the latter and take her out that was very scary, but good job the firefighters."
