Yankee Stadium capacity increased ahead of Friday's Chicago White Sox game, and the stadium was set to seat fans sitting in both non-vaccinated and fully vaccinated sections.
Yankee Stadium was filled with the most fans it has seen in over a year and a half.
Fully vaccinated sections could be filled to full capacity, while non-vaccinated sections were limited to 33%. There were about 24 sections designated for fully vaccinated attendees.
Guests with tickets in fully vaccinated seating sections, who are 16 years old and older, must present proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter Yankee Stadium.
That means that the day of the event they are attending, they must be at least 14 days after their second dose of Pfizer or Moderna or at least 14 days after their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson's vaccine.
Non-vaccinated children under 15 years old can still sit with their parents who are fully vaccinated in the fully vaccinated section.
Yankees fans say they don't mind the rules, if it means they get to return to their favorite pastime.
If you're still not vaccinated, you can receive your vaccine at Yankee Stadium. In exchange, participants can receive a free ticket to a future Yankees game.
