Yonkers took part in Earth Day activities with a major announcement to help the environment.
City leaders passed an amendment recently to stop the use of e-cigarettes and vaping on all city-owned playgrounds.
Yonkers already had a tobacco-free policy in place, but this change will further reduce the environmental impacts of tobacco use, as well as youth exposure.
