Hundreds came out Saturday to a special ice skating event to raise money to fight pediatric cancer.
The Kids Making a Difference Ice Skating Event was held at the Aviator Sports and Recreation Center at Floyd Bennett Field.
Robbie Manullo, 12, is in remission from Hodgkin?s Lymphoma. His family along with three others teamed up to hold the fundraiser. ?It?s great that now we see our children well, and we did this to help others,? Manullo?s mother Laurie says.
More than 90 percent of every dollar raised goes to pediatric cancer research, according to organizers. They say thousands of dollars were raised during the event.
