The weather today brought that Monday feel to life. Cloudy skies with lingering showers kept the temperatures some 10 to 15 degrees cooler than average, but also 20 to almost 30 degrees colder than just 24 hours ago. The forecast certainly befits the Monday moniker.
Skies will slowly clear tonight. The winds behind this weather maker will pick up some. As a result, the temperatures are expected to drop below the seasonable norms. Nighttime air temperatures will be hovering below the freezing point and that breeze will make it feel colder waiting for the bus or train Tuesday morning. Dress for a winter chill.
As the day wears on fair weather will nose in from the west. New Jersey will be on the front side of that beautiful weather maker. The winds will be coming from the Great Lakes and Canada, so let us not get too excited about milder, spring-like conditions. Afternoon highs will just reach 50 degrees Tuesday.
The temperatures are expected to bounce around more than a pinball on a sensitive bumper. Cold to warm, then back to cooler. By Thursday, air temperatures will warm up to the upper 60s but that warmup is ahead of a weather system likely to bring rain and a few thunderstorms top the area by days end.
