Some elected officials believe congestion pricing could be the solution to fixing the city’s transit system.
To prove their point, two of those elected officials joined the Riders’ Alliance for a ride on the L train.

Rep. Nydia Velazquez and Assemblywoman Maritza Davila joined riders at the Lorimer Street L train stop in Williamsburg.
They say they’re hoping today to really get a feel for what the millions of commuters in New York City deal with riding the subways daily.
During the ride, they talked to riders about their commute and the reliability of the city’s transit system. At the same time, they pushed for the passage of congestion pricing.
Congestion pricing is what Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio have pushed to transform and fund the MTA. They say it’s already expensive to live in New York City and not affordable for so many without it.

"When we're paying more than ever just to live in this great city, I am urging my colleagues in Albany to please consider passing unanimously congestive pricing,” says Velazquez.
They hope to get information through surveys and use it to help.
