Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting at a Bronx gas station last week.
According to police, 21-year-old Freddie McGrier shot and killed 28-year-old Gambian immigrant Lamin Sillah during a robbery attempt at RC Petroleum on Southern Boulevard. McGrier is facing robbery and murder charges.
Police say the Harlem resident has five prior convictions, including ones for robbery and assault, and that he was on parole at the time of the shooting.
Sillah's co-workers say they're relieved police have apprehended a suspect. Sillah had only been working at the gas station for less than two weeks when he was killed.
