A Brooklyn filmmaker is back from Cannes, France after his web series was honored at the Cannes Film Festival.

Filmmaker Ace Salisbury shot his series "Everything's OK" entirely in a Crown Heights apartment, making the most of his $23,000 budget.

Salisbury says the idea for the film came to him when he was in the shower. The film is about what would happen if New York City became a vast wasteland. The series shows what it would look like if the East River and Hudson River drained. 

Salisbury and art director Chris O'Connell constructed the set out of cardboard. The project took two years to complete.

The young filmmaker was thrilled to be recognized in Cannes. He is hoping to release "Everything's OK" in the summer.
