A Brooklyn councilman wants restaurant goers who suffer from food allergies to know exactly what's in their meal before they chow down.
Councilman David Greenfield has proposed the Food Allergy Awareness Act, which would require city eateries to post a sign alerting their customers to any of the eight most common allergies caused by food that they serve.
Several hearings on the topic are scheduled and it could take up to a year before any final decisions on the bill are made.
