Brooklyn held its annual Haitian Day Celebration on Sunday as the city continues to urge people to donate items and supplies to the Caribbean county suffering from Hurricane Matthew.
Hundreds of people were killed in Haiti by the storm and the death toll is still being tallied. Thousands of people there have been left struggling to survive without a home.
Relief workers are having a hard time reaching areas that have been hit the hardest and need the most assistance.
The Haitian communities in Brooklyn have been working together to delivers goods to the island.
The Haitian Family Resource Center in Flatbush is one place people can come and donate items such as clothes, toiletries and food. Other locations to donate include the Flatbush YMCA and the Multicultural Bridge Project.
