Porto Salvo is serving up authentic southern Italian dishes in the Morrisania section of the Bronx.

Located on E. 161st Street near the Bronx courthouse and 3rd Avenue retail hub, Porto Salvo is only walking distance from Yankee Stadium.   

There's a nautical theme throughout the restaurant, and the staff hopes customers are not only inspired by the ambience but also through their taste buds.

The Italian-style dishes are prepared under the guidance of the executive chef who hails the from the old county.

Dishes like olives, feta cheese in herbs and olive oil to start or grilled octopus served over sautéed cauliflower, caper berries, mushroom and tomatoes.

“He brings those seafood dishes into the Bronx and we are getting lots of love for it,” co-owner Mark Lu says.
