Brooklyn coffee shop turned into 'Gilmore Girls' diner
Pop-up coffee shops mimicking Luke's Diner from the popular TV series "Gilmore Girls" appeared across the country Wednesday, including in Brooklyn.
The original series ended in 2007, and Netflix is bringing it back in the form of a miniseries titled "Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life."
Eager fans braved long lines outside Sir D's Lounge on Union Street to experience the pop-up diner. It's an effort to promote the upcoming series.
Netflix picked up the tab on the first 300 coffees with a special cup that includes quotes from the show.
Sir D's was transformed with a sign out front, and baristas wore flannel shirts, Luke's Diner hats worn backward like on the show and aprons with the diner's logo.
The revival miniseries is scheduled to premiere Nov. 25.
