The Brooklyn Distract Attorney has confirmed that the deadly hammer attack at a Sheepshead Bay restaurant has claimed another person’s life.
The DA told News 12 a third victim has died as a result of the violent attack that occurred on Jan. 15.
Police say one man died at the scene of the attack, while another died from his injuries days after the attack after being listed in critical condition.
Authorities arrested 34-year-old Arthur Martunovich, and charged him with murder, two counts of attempted murder and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
The incident happened at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15 inside Seaport Buffet on Emmons Avenue.
Police say Martunovich stormed into the restaurant holding a hammer and began attacking people inside, killing 34-year-old chef Fufai Pun.
Police tell News 12 that Martunovich tried to run after the attack but didn't get very far before authorities were able to grab him.
Martunovich was carried out of the 60th Precinct by NYPD Emergency Services. Police say he was being combative inside the precinct and was unable to be walked out. He underwent a psychiatric evaluation after the attack.
Police say it appears the attack was unprovoked.
